Diagnosis.
The insect is a uniform rich chestnut brown with no obvious markings. The narrow, apically produced forewings and falcate, tornally produced hindwings are distinctive.

Taxonomic notes. The externally similar Gastropacha minima Lajonqui�re is known from Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore. This has less excavate hindwings on which there is a small white reticulated patch.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. Only the holotype male is known, taken at 2600m on G. Kinabalu.
